Copenhagen – Monday, 16th January 2012

Ok, it has been a while since I’ve been using this page, but I will make sure, from now on, to write more notes and news in the future about what I do and about stuff related to my collaborations etcetera.

It has been pretty difficult to keep up with everything I have to say.

During the last year, Coldplay took most of my time with their last album and then of course The Black Ships,
a small tour with Goldfrapp and numerous other string projects.

This year is definitely going to be for The Black Ships, we are finally seeing a very tiny light at the end of the tunnel, will be up and running with a plan soon.

Love Davide

p.s. Please give me some feedback if you feel like it… it’s very appreciated and it encourages me to write more!!! … is that a good thing actually??? ;)

Edinburgh

Edinburgh – Sunday, 11th July 2010

After a short trip to Ireland, where we played at the Oxigene Festival near Dublin, here we are in cold, rainy but extremely beautiful Edinburgh. Looking forward to play at the T in the Park festival tonight.

This morning sunshine is on the menu, however experience tells me this could change in no time here in Scotland… let’s hope for the best!

It’s great to be back doing festivals, with the possibility to check out other acts and see old and new faces on the various sites.

So far, this Goldfrapp tour has been the most pleasurable and fun. The material to choose from is great and the variety huge. Quite a change from what it was ten years ago, when we only had 30 minutes at our disposal and a pretty monotone (but beautiful) sound with Felt Mountain.

Anyways… off to get ready for tonight, hopefully it will be a blast!

MexicoCity

Tuesday – 29th June 2010

Mexico City.

We just completed a small and yet fantastic US tour, which touched Washington, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Great venues and great audiences.

I believe that this incarnation of Goldfrapp is possibly the best ever and we are proving it with some blinding shows.

Back home the Ships are productive and we are all working remotely at the moment.

Tonight we play for the first time in Mexico and tomorrow we will be heading home.

LondonJune2010

Saturday – 19th June 2010

London…

This past week has been a hard one: two production rehearsals with Goldfrapp to make sure that the show will be a cracker (and it will definitely be!), then seeing the boys at the Beehive and just jump in into a session with them.

It feels like I have so many families in this music world… indeed I am very lucky.

Sometimes it’s hard to keep on with the pressure of such high demands commitments, but the joy of being able to do this is remarkable.

Tomorrow off to the US for a series of concerts: looking forward to it!

diary

Tuesday, 15th June 2010

I’m very happy to start a diary here on my site. This is going to be quite personal and perhaps boring to people who will venture into this section, but I felt it was needed to give myself, if nothing else, a sense of direction and of where I am going with my work.

A lot is happening these days: the start of a new Goldfrapp tour, being in the thick of making a record with my own first band (The Black Ships) and many more projects that are filling my professional and musical life beyond imagination.

I’m very grateful for this yet I sense the need of not stretching myself too much, as I sometime begin to feel the pressure more than necessary.

The cure for this is always working on some detail, on making sure that there is a list to do things and that these are actually getting done!

I’m home now, but soon will be away again, into the world.

Welcome to my world!
